Z-80 Books - Here's a List of Four Adam Trionfo September 26, 2002 I originally posted this (as message 1053) on the Astrocade Discussion Group. Since this discussion group started, several books have come up as good Z-80 reference/learning books (the Astrocade's CPU is a Z-80). Here are four books that I purchased on half.com or ebay in 2001. I paid between fifty cents and six dollars per book- very fair prices! Leventhal, Lance A. 1979. Z80 ASSEMBLY LANGUAGE PROGRAMMING. Berkeley: Osborne/McGraw-Hill. Leventhal, Lance A., Winthrop Saville. 1983. Z80 MACHINE LANGUAGE SUBROUTINES. Berkeley: Osborne/McGraw-Hill. Spracklen, Kathe. 1979. Z80 and 8080 ASSEMBLY LANGUAGE PROGRAMMING. Rochelle Park: Hayden Book Company, Inc. Zaks, Rodnay. 1981. HOW TO PROGRAM THE Z80, THIRD EDITION. USA: SYBEX, Inc. My favorite book among these is HOW TO PROGRAM THE Z80- it gives all the information that you need to get started- from a very beginner (i.e. this is the first computer book ever purchased) to the advanced programmer. It's a good book. My other favorite is the subroutine book- it's full of good stuff! If you can get your hands on any of these books, then I recommend it. END OF ARTICLE
