Bally Astrocade Instructions for: CHICKEN Cartridge For 1 or 2 players Get your chickens across SIX LANES of traffic! Success allows the next weekday to come up (traffic gets worse). "GAME OVER" appears when player 1 has lost his last chicken, unless player 2 scores, then the game plays to the last chicken. When a player looses his last chicken it leaves a spot on the roadway. If another chicken touches this spot, he's dead! The game goes from Sunday to Saturday then "Holiday" (after that, who knows). Also this game will keep playing after the cartirdge is removed!!!!! Start it up, pull the cartirdge, and freak out your friends!! Pulling trigger #1 restarts CHICKEN. Hitting [RESET] clears the game out and begins the menu if the cartridge was removed. Notes: CHICKEN was released on cassette by Bit Fiddlers, but it had no official release on cartridge. Chicken's playfield only takes up the top part of the screen, it isn't as smooth as other cartirdges. This is because the cartridge is the BASIC program from cassette, and not any more. This means that the game still only can use 1.8 of RAM and game program is on the SCREEN at the bottom. If an object passes over the bottom of the screen it would erase part of the program and the game would crash. Since the game is moved from cartridge to RAM before the game begins, the cartidge can be removed with no ill effects after play begins (as already stated).
