Happy Birthday! By Lance Squire Transcribed for Bally/Astrocade, August 2011 This program the "Happy Birthday To You" song. It can be loaded with: :INPUT ; RUN Since this was a surprise for me (Adam Trionfo), Lance had to be clever about how I first saw it. On August 31, 2011 (a few days after my birthday) he sent me this email message, "Could you archive and test this please. It's two saves of the same thing." That email was pretty vague, so I asked "Anything I should know like which BASIC or baud rate?" His reply didn't tell me much more. He just answered "AstroBasic 2000." Well, that was enough to go on, so I went ahead and ran it through BallyBin and AstroWAV. I had some initial trouble archiving the software, so he sent me another copy. This time it archived fine. I tested it out, and it was a happy birthday song for me. I wrote to him, "HEY!!! You wrote me the "Happy Birthday to You" song." He replied: "It was part of my 'cunning 3 part plan'... I was going to verify the note values it was using then check them against your ML version. However, Kids and equipment problems kept intervening. :( However, I thought you might appreciate the simple solution working as it was. :) Glad you liked it! Lance" What a nice birthday gift!
