Munchie (Unreleased Cartridge) Bally Astrocade Cartridge Review This review is from the 1982 book "The Complete Guide to Conquering Video Games: How to Win Every Game in the Galaxy" by Jeff Rovin. Object As in "K.C. Munchkin" and the "Pac-Man" arcade game, the player's goal is to gulp down dots that line the maze while at the same time avoiding creatures that hope to consume the player's figure. Unlike "K.C. Munchkin," every square inch of the pathways is covered with dots, which makes gameplay considerably more difficult. You can't avoid a section of the maze, or you will not turn over the game and get to a new round. There are, as in "K.C. Munchkin," three monsters chasing you ("ghosts" in "Munchie") that can be gobbled down, in turn, if your racing gremlin ingests a superdot energizer. These are situated on in each of the four corners of the course. Pro forma, there are exits in the middle of the left and right sides of the course that allow the player to exit one and enter the other. Rating **** Both games provide thrills and bottleneck action as well as spilt-second decision-making. The graphics in both are superior to those in "K.C. Munchkin" in that the maze walls are shapes rather than mere lines. END OF REVIEW
