Homebrew DVD-Style Case

A discussion came up on the Bally Alley Yahoogroup about homebrew boxes for the Bally Astrocade. Bill Loguidice (from Armchair Arcade) suggested that a cartridge might fit in a DVD amaray-style keep case, just one without the circular peg.

I wasn't sure about this idea... until I just tried it. It's almost like the Astrocade cart was made to fit inside the DVD case... minus the part of the case that the DVD snaps into. I really can't believe how well this works.

The case DOES close, but it could snap open; it's not a tight fit like it should be. Still, I can't belive this works at all. I did have to use an X-Acto knife to cut out the part that the DVD clips into. That took about five minutes. It wasn't too good for the blade either. Still, this is a good option that should be explored further.
