The Astrocade has a 24-button keypad that is used for input on games and for typing (most notably
in BASIC). Take a close look at the keypad (click it to make it larger). It's amazing how
much versatility this little bugger added to the machine. Those keys make the difference between a
plain old game machine and a REAL computer (provided that the owner has BASIC).

When I first saw this machine with its tiny keypad, I thought to myself, "People typed on that!" Indeed
they did. People programmed using those twenty-four keys. When a cartridge
required a lot of typing, then an overlay was made that fit right on top of the keypad. |
This is the place to find those overlays (make sure to click on the overlay for a better view--
and even print it if you need it).
